Data Architect

SUMMARY

The Data Architect will play a critical role in providing data solutions, responsible for designing data infrastructure strategies, including the overall enterprise data management framework, data security, and compliance. focus on building and maintaining the technical infrastructure used to store, process, and analyze data. You will be able to understand the current architecture and able to identify the opportunities to optimize. Engaging with stakeholders and technical team members to interact with various business units in understanding the data and report needs, architecting and implementing data solutions as per the business needs. A Data architect develops data-oriented systems to meet an organization’s or research team’s needs. Their duties include developing systems, procedures, and policies for data management in an organization, assisting colleagues in performing data-related tasks, and networking with clients. This role will report to the BEST Data Services Senior Manager in our Business Enterprise Systems Technology department. The successful candidate will take a hands-on approach and will be mentoring other developers with SQL skills, data modeling, reporting tools and other effective data solutions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware, and infrastructure
• Collaborating with other stakeholders to ensure the architecture is aligned with business requirements.
• Identify gaps in current system and provide solution as POC with best suitable technologies.
• Collaborating with senior Leaders to determine business-specific application needs.
• Providing technical solutions to leadership and to application development team
• Performing design and code reviews and ensuring application design standards are maintained.
• Compiling and implementing application development plans for new or existing applications.
• Leading the application development team and supervising the design, testing, and modification stages.
• Demonstrating application prototypes and integrating user feedback.
• Writing scripts and code for applications, as well as installing and updating applications.
• Mentoring junior application developers and providing end-users with technical support.
• Performing application integration, maintenance, upgrades, and migration.
• Documenting application development processes, procedures, and standards.
• Integrating trends in application architecture in application development projects.
• Streamlining of day-to-day activities; providing a more efficient production environment.
• Lowering costs and gaining cost-effectiveness; providing a secure, stable, and supportable environment.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Minimum of 12 years of data warehousing and reporting projects experience.
• Strong knowledge of data architecture solutions.
• Must have experience in Predictive Analytics
• Should be able to integrate data with new technologies in cloud environments.
• Should be able to do the API integrations for data extraction and transformations.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling and reporting tools.
• The ability to analyze and present statistical information.
• Mastery of specific types of databases, such as relational or foundational databases
• Experience with database management software.
