This role plays a critical part in supporting our technology initiatives and business operations.ResponsibilitiesThe Linux Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's Linux servers and systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance. This role is crucial for supporting our IT infrastructure and business operations.Responsibilities:Linux Server Deployment: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, including Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or other distributions.System Administration: Perform day-to-day system administration tasks, including user management, system updates, and performance tuning.Security Hardening: Implement security measures, including access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security patches, to protect Linux systems from threats.Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for routine system tasks and processes.Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and system availability.Network Configuration: Configure and maintain network services, such as DNS, DHCP, and VPN, on Linux servers.Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Monitor server performance, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, and optimize system resources.Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve system issues, software conflicts, and discrepancies promptly.Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.Vendor and Service Provider Management: Collaborate with Linux software vendors and service providers to ensure effective delivery of Linux-based services. Ensure that all vendor provided appliances are hardened.Qualifications we seek in you!Minimum Qualifications/SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.· · Proven experience as an IT Linux Administrator with hands-on experience in Linux system administration and management.· · Linux certifications, such as Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), CompTIA Linux+, or equivalent, are preferred.· · Strong knowledge of Linux distributions, server deployments, and shell scripting.· · Proficiency in Linux security hardening, backup and recovery, and performance optimization.· · Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.· · Strong communication and interpersonal skills.· · Knowledge of Linux best practices and emerging technologies.· · Experience with cloud-based Linux servers (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.Preferred Qualifications/ SkillsProven experience as an IT Server Engineer with hands-on experience in server design, configuration, and maintenance.Linux Server Deployment: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers, including Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or other distributions.System Administration: Perform day-to-day system administration tasks, including user management, system updates, and performance tuning.Security Hardening: Implement security measures, including access controls, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and security patches, to protect Linux systems from threats.Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for routine system tasks and processes.
