Requirements Job Description As a cloud database security professional, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the organization's database ecosystem's confidentiality, integrity, and security. Your role will be crucial in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database security measures to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, data breaches, and other security threats. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities, enhance security controls, and develop incident response plans. Role And Responsibility Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into the database development and deployment lifecycle. Document security processes, procedures, and configurations, and maintain an up-to-date inventory of database assets and security controls. Database Security Design and Implementation : Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, DBAs, and security teams, to design and implement security controls and best practices for databases. This task includes access controls, authentication mechanisms, encryption, auditing, and monitoring. Database Vulnerability Assessment : Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential security weaknesses in databases. Develop and implement remediation plans for identified vulnerabilities and keep up to date with the latest security threats and best practices. Security Incident Response : Develop and maintain incident response plans and procedures for database security incidents. Coordinate with incident response teams to investigate and respond to database security incidents, including data breaches and unauthorized access attempts. Implement necessary security controls to prevent similar incidents in the future. Database Security Monitoring and Auditing : Implement and maintain database security monitoring tools and systems to detect and respond to potential security incidents in real time. Review audit logs and database activities regularly to identify and investigate suspicious activities or policy violations. Security Policy and Compliance: Assist in the development and enforcement of database security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR). Ensure compliance with relevant security frameworks and regulations. Skills Minimum three years of experience in the area of Azure database management in AzureSQLDB, Azure SQL managed instance and Azure cosmos DB Strong hold on database management systems (e.g., Az-SQL databases, Az- SQL Managed instances). Practical exposure to Azure's security best practices, ACLs, encryption technologies, and security ecosystems Proficiency in scripting and query languages (Must Have: T-SQL, Python/PowerShell). Knowledge of KQL will be a plus. Able to identify and mitigate potential security risks using analytical and problem-solving skills Should have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Stay updated with industry trends, security threats, and best practices. Knowledge of data masking tools Good documentation and presentation skills Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field.
