Responsibilities
- Understand an applicant's unique background and come up with a plan that suits their persona
- Creating and maintaining appropriate timelines
- Conducting online research and suggesting best-fit universities based on the applicant's goals
- Brainstorming for essays and taking mock interviews
- Coordinating essay drafts to assess the relevance of content, expression, and grammar
- Reviewing all written application materials, including but not limited to essays, application forms, and resumes to ensure consistency with the applicant's persona
- Proofreading all the components of each application to ensure effective presentation and grammatical soundness
- Conducting basic interview preparation if required
- Motivating and supporting applicants through a demanding, prolonged application process
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree and/or Master's degree (preferably from a Tier 1 or Tier 2 US university)
- 3+ years' experience in study-abroad counselling
- An empathic individual willing to listen and counsel
- A team player, willing to help students to achieve their goals
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-dependent environment
- Competitive organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Maturity, refine, and professionalism
