Position: Data Engineering - Project Manager

Location: Chennai

Purpose of the Position:

As a Data Engineering Project Manager, this position requires candidate who are enthusiastic about specialized skills to provide leadership and expertise in the design, development, and management of data engineering solutions. As a member of the team, you will help our clients, by building enterprise solutions that supports to progress on their Data Engineering journey.

Key Result Areas and Activities:

• Share and Build Expertise – Develop and share expertise in Data Engineering and actively mine the experience and expertise in the organization for sharing across teams and clients in the firm. Support the Cloud and Data Engineering COE initiatives.

• Nurture and Grow Talent – Provide support for recruitment, coaching and mentoring, and building practice capacity in the firm.

Work and Technical Experience:

• Manage and optimize the flow of value through the Agile Release Train using various tools, including Jira and agile tools
• Establish and communicate the calendars for Platform and Program iterations
• Facilitate Backlog planning by fostering a Continuous Exploration process that drives the creation of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre and Post Planning events
• Facilitate planning events
• Summarize platform Objectives and Program Objectives (the release train) and publish them for visibility and transparency
• Assist in tracking the execution of features and capabilities
• Facilitate periodic synchronization events
• Assist with economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability impact assessment and effort estimation by teams and the roll-up to Epics, where necessary
• Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mentalities
• Help manage risks and dependencies
• Bring up and track impediments
• Provide feedback on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
• Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
• Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with DevOps and Release on Demand in the Continuous Delivery Pipeline
• Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
• Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure alignment to Guardrails
• Facilitate System Demos
• Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and help them improve Foster Communities of Practice and the use of engineering and Built-In Quality practices

Essential Skills:

• Hands on with Snowflake, Python, ETL, Various Data Warehouses
• Data engineering expertise
• JIRA, Agile program execution

Desirable Skills :

• AWS cloud stack, Talend

Qualifications:

• Overall work experience of 14+ years with minimum of 8+ years’ experience on Snowflake, Python, ETL and Datawarehouse projects
