Job Title: Mainframe Developer + Production Support Specialist

Location: Pune

Shift Time: 12 PM to 9 PM with Standby Support Shift(May require to work in Night shift too)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Experience Required: 8+ Years

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with a strong background in production support to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our mainframe systems while providing exceptional production support.

Software Requirements:

  • Proficiency in TSO, JCL, VSAM, COBOL, CICS, and Easytrieve Plus.
  • Experience with mainframe-based development and debugging tools.
  • Understanding of database management and file handling on mainframe systems.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and maintain mainframe software applications.
  • Provide production support, including troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine system checks and batch job monitoring to ensure system integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements and updates.
  • Participate in standby support shifts to address critical production issues outside of regular business hours.

Categorywise Technical Skills:

  • Mainframe Development: Strong coding skills in COBOL, proficiency with JCL job setup, and experience with VSAM file handling.
  • System Operation: Experience with TSO and mainframe environments, capable of performing system operations and maintenance.
  • Application Support: Skilled in CICS application support and troubleshooting, including the use of Easytrieve Plus for reporting and data manipulation.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in mainframe development and production support.
  • Demonstrated history of successful mainframe application support and system optimization.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Monitor system performance and execute scheduled jobs using JCL.
  • Respond to and resolve production incidents and system alerts.
  • Update and maintain system documentation and operational manuals.
  • Conduct code reviews and optimize mainframe applications for performance.
  • Communicate with team members and stakeholders regarding system status and ongoing support activities.

Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Additional certifications in mainframe technologies are a plus.
