Basic Information

Position Title - Professional

Experience Level - 4 - 5 years

Department -Finance

Location - Gurgaon

Position reports to - Payroll Lead

Job Purpose


  • This position process monthly payroll and CTC reimbursements along with the help of payroll Vendor
  • Responsible for end to end payroll accounting including payroll and payroll benefits related accruals
  • Co-ordination with HR for change in employees (joiner, left, under notice, change in salary etc.)
  • Dealing with various vendors for all payroll and all benefits related services
  • Ensuring correct payroll including payroll compliances, Timely payment and resolving queries

Key Responsibilities


  • Review payroll and settlements received from outsourced service vendor,
  • Follow all relevant internal controls implemented by management,
  • Prepare journal entries every month during book close, within given timelines,
  • Prepare all payroll related reconciliations monthly, including but not limited to Payroll expense, Bonus expense, Salary payable, Bonus payable, commission payable, statutory payables etc.,
  • Upload all relevant payroll payments on Bank portal and send to Bank signatories for authorization,
  • Process advances and other out of cycle payments,
  • Prepare key metrics on payroll data to be presented to management,
  • Front end discussion with various audits, for closure on payroll / related compliances,
  • Prepare and file all relevant tax reports / returns within statutory timelines,
  • Serve as backup to other payroll team members,
  • Assure that all employees receive timely responses on payroll inquiries, clarifications etc.,
  • Independently able to co-ordinate with other relevant internal groups and external parties (as required),
  • Address and resolve problems in a timely manner,
  • Initiate best practices, develop efficiencies, improvements &
  • Other responsibilities must be taken up basis requirement.

Key Competencies


  • Bachelors / master’s degree in finance with minimum 4-5 years of experience.
  • Candidate should have handled payroll function as part of the current profile, primarily India,
  • Minimum 4 - 5 years of relevant experience,
  • Working knowledge on MS excel and other Microsoft databases, prior experience on NetSuite accounting software will be an advantage,
  • Good knowledge on tax laws that are applicable to payroll like Income tax, Provident Fund, Professional tax, Employee state insurance etc., and all applicable overseas tax laws,
  • Good follow-up skills, ability to understand, adapt for process changes and a strong sense of importance and ownership &
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
