Role:


As an IT & Security Specialist, you will be responsible for managing, operating, and providing technical support for Mercari India’s systems and IT assets. You will play an active role in building out Mercari India’s IT and security culture, optimizing the internal IT environment, and creating the foundation for resilient IT operations. You will also be responsible for ensuring security best practices across Mercari India and creating a user-friendly and secure environment for Mercari India employees in collaboration with the Mercari Japan IT and Security teams.

You will help drive business growth through ensuring the appropriate, secure, and cost-efficient management of enterprise IT system accounts and IT assets, and proliferating a culture of security throughout the entire organization. To succeed in this role, you should possess the ability to quickly grasp business challenges, plan and propose IT-based solutions, and demonstrate project management and communication skills to help unleash the potential of Mercari employees through resilient and secure IT infrastructure and operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Site owner for all IT related matters, taking care of daily operations, escalations, and ad-hoc tasks.
  • Provide technical support for Mercari India employees in the scope of end-user devices, SaaS applications, office network, AV and OA equipment within the corporate environment.
  • Drive continuous service improvement in IT-related matters, affecting end-user productivity and improving user experience satisfaction.
  • Manage IT assets (hardware and software), budgets, contracts and procurement.
  • Collaborate with the Mercari Japan IT and Security teams in making fundamental improvements to IT operations and implementing security best practices


Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Over 3 years of relevant IT working experience in an on-site end-user support environment, supporting a large number of end-users.
  • Practical hands-on experience in implementing and/or operating end-user devices (Mac and Windows with mobile-device management (MDM) technologies, such as Jamf and Intune), SaaS apps (Google Workspace, Okta, Slack, etc.), IT service management platforms (ServiceNow, etc.), endpoint security solutions (EDR solutions such as CrowdStrike, etc.), and networking.
  • Coding experience, such as shell scripting
  • Experience in IT service management and project management
  • Experience in managing IT assets (hardware and software), budgets, contracts and procurement
  • Good problem-solving skills, and ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or related field, or equivalent work experience


Desired Qualifications:

  • Team-leading/management experience
  • ITIL Foundations or more advanced levels of ITIL certification, or equivalent experience
  • PMP or Prince2 certification, or equivalent project management capability
  • Experience in automation using IPaaS or low-code/no-code solutions, such as Workato and Zapier
  • Language skills: conversational Japanese a plus
