Job Description:

The position holder is required to conduct the CE/UKCA Marking & other product regulatory compliance assessment and prepare product technical files for SLB Equipment. This also includes study of design documents, define test plans as per applicable IEC, EN, UL, CSA standards , defined certification process flow and coordinate with external test labs and notified/certification body. Candidate will report to the Project Manager-Electrical along with their Functional Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Study electrical circuit design document, electrical schematics and instruction manual and completely understand electrical/electronic product functionality.
  • Perform CE/UKCA Marking applicability assessment of SLB Equipment from various Product groups.
  • Identify applicable directives (e.g. LVD, EMC, RED, ATEX etc..).
  • Understand SLB equipment and perform the product risk assessment. Identify electrical, mechanical, thermal, radioactive & ignition hazards associated with product and resolve action items.
  • Identify appropriate test standards for CE marking, NRTL & FCC approval of SLB equipment.
  • Suggest design improvements and suggestions to meet CE/UKCA, NRTL, & FCC Compliance requirements.
  • Create Technical File as per CE/UKCA Marking & other product regulatory compliance schemes.
  • Perform product certification activities including coordination with external test labs and certification body.
  • Regular monitoring of CE/UKCA marking status and required updates in Technical Files.
  • Regulatory filings and maintaining records.
  • Prepare and continuously share updates of the detailed project plan and its progress with other SLB product centers.

Skills required:

  • Good knowledge of CE/UKCA Marking Directives ( EMC, LVD, & RED ) & NRTL approval (UL/CSA) and good understanding of product compliance process flow.
  • Hands on experience related to electrical safety and EMC/RED assessment of the product.
  • Good knowledge of providing design related inputs for EMC or electrical safety test failures.
  • Hands on experience related to grounding/shielding techniques of EMI/EMC.
  • Understanding of engineering concepts to understand product functionality.
  • Good knowledge Electrical safety standards (e.g. IEC 61010-1, IEC 60204-1, IEC 62368-1 or equivalent ) and/or EMI-EMC Standards (e.g. IEC 61000 series of standards ).
  • Strong interpretation skill of product related national/International test standard requirements (EN, IEC, UL, CSA etc.).
  • Basic statistical analysis and good communication skills.

Skills good to have:

  • Good knowledge on ATEX Directive and related harmonized standard (e.g. EN/IEC 60079 series ),
  • Test lab experience in EMI EMC/electrical safety testing or worked with notified body.
  • Technical knowledge of IS Loop calculations/Heat Dissipation calculations for ATEX.

Academic Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or I nstrumentation Engineering from a premier college (preferably NITs or Deemed University) in India.
  • Candidates from Tier II colleges
  • 2 to 7 years work experience in a similar position.
