Assistant Brand Manager

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible to develop and deliver effective marketing strategies and activation campaigns to grow market share and brand reputation across Food Service and Bakery Solutions portfolio of Cargill .


Principal Accountabilities:


  • Monitor retail and bakery market trends, research customers and track competitors’ activities to identify opportunities and key issues.
  • Analyze data to develop insights on market, brand and competitor performance using AC Nielsen data, Euromonitor data, internal sales data and regular market visits.
  • Interact with Head of Brand and Director Marketing to understand requirements from the brand and accordingly build brand strategy.
  • Responsible for working closely with the Sales team, R&D and Trade Marketing to uncover powerful customer insights to drive long term equity, product innovation/renovation and brand operations.
  • Drive cross functional teams to ensure consistent product experience in terms of packaging and product quality. Action corrective measures in case of any reported deviation.
  • Provide inputs on graphics/structure to agencies/packaging development teams and evaluate feasibility (Cost, logistics), conduct, and analyze pack test.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of all communication and point of sale strategy including close coordination of trade marketing activities with appropriate sales teams.
  • Overseeing the production of newspaper and magazine advertisements, direct mail packs, trade partner gift, email campaigns Prepare customer activation briefs (objective, route, target, cost etc.) and share with activation partners, monitor the execution, and evaluate the outcomes vs objective of activation initiatives.
  • Lead creative development and create motivating stimulus to get targeted segment to “take action”. Coordinate the development of communication materials such as catalogues, websites, brochures, packaging, and in-store displays with external stakeholders like creative agency, printers, activation agency etc.


Required Qualifications:


  • Experience in food & beverages organization in handling brand management/activation for B2B/B2C brands/ food service – QSR/ Bakery execution skills
  • Interpersonal/people skills


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Service/bakery/FMCG experience preferred and Marketing Background preferred.
  • Sales/Trade Marketing experience 4+ years of brand activation/management role & communication skills.
