BMC Discovery and CMDB Specialist

Role context and purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a BMC Discovery and CMDB Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, managing, and optimizing BMC Discovery and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) solutions within our organization. This role requires a deep understanding of IT infrastructure, strong technical expertise in BMC technologies, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

You are mainly responsible for the-

BMC Discovery

• implement, and manage BMC Discovery solutions to discover, map, and maintain a complete inventory of IT assets, including hardware, software, and services.
• with cross-functional teams to understand and document business requirements, and translate them into effective BMC Discovery configurations.
• data modelling and data normalization to ensure accurate and reliable discovery results.
• and maintain TPL scripts for custom patterns and data collection.
• and optimize BMC Discovery to collect and update information on a wide range of IT assets, such as cloud resources, virtual machines, and network devices.
• and resolve BMC Discovery-related issues, and implement enhancements to improve discovery efficiency and accuracy.
• and update BMC Discovery policies, patterns, and credentials to adapt to changes in the IT environment.
• with the security team to ensure that BMC Discovery is compliant with security standards and protocols.
• up to date with BMC Discovery best practices and industry trends to provide recommendations for process improvements.

CMDB

• with enterprise environments Asset lifecycle.
• with custom classes management and data set configurations.
• experience in the Atrium Integrator spoon and complex jobs creation, tuning and maintenance.
• & Monitor Normalization and Reconciliation Jobs to ensure accuracy of data coming from different sources
• Remedy Smart Reports creating reports for Business consumption from CMDB.
• SQL queries and reports for management on KPIs to improve the process effectiveness, efficiency, and data accuracy.
• to work in a fast-paced environment and able to deliver results in a timely manner
• CIs to ensure CMDB accuracy and completeness
• BI reports, Dashboards based on the user requirements.
• be able to analyze the flashboard, Variables of Reporting.
• understanding of infra level design for visualization.

Education and Qualifications:

• degree B.E./B Tech/ BCA
• Discovery and CMDB certification is a plus.

Experience:

• 4 to 8 years of experience with CMDB and Discovery is must, (BMC Helix Dashboard).
• in ITSM administration, managing users, API integrations, and web service integration.
• have an experience with Postgres SQL and other database languages.
• be familiar with the reporting terms like Attributes, Filters, Joins and schema.
• have knowledge about the external data sources to import data into CMDB and manage based on precedence.
• have knowledge about different modules like CMDB/Asset, Incident, Work Order, Change and Problem.
• have experience with handing auto discovered and manually managed data
• have experience with managing CMDB data including duplicate and orphan CIs
• have experience with managing CMDB jobs likes reconciliation and normalization.

Desirables:

• with service modeling.
• knowledge of IT infrastructure, networks, and system architecture.

• with duplicates and orphan CIs troubleshooting

Essential:

• good knowledge about Joins, multi-query and calculated fields.
