Senior SQL Database Administrator Pune/Mumbai (Hybrid) Experience Level: 5+ years relevant is Must General Summary: The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for certifying that the database environment is properly architected and maintained to optimize system performance, provide high availability, and disaster recovery. This role works in partnership with the Development Operations teams to develop and enforce database design and coding standards to ensure long-term architecture visions are met. Responsibilities: Supports engineering teams, researches, documents, and mentors. Designs and manages secure, high-performing cloud environments. Installs, configures, and maintains SQL servers and related services. Ensures data backup, security, performance, and troubleshooting. Ensures all databases are backed up regularly to meet recovery point objectives (RPO) Ensures all databases have proper and regular maintenance done, including re-indexing and integrity checks Configures and establishes custom dashboards, alerts, and reports using SSIS/SSRS/PowerShell Monitors, identifies, and troubleshoots SQL Server issues Deploys database change scripts provided by other departments Develops and enforces standards, advises developers, and mentors colleagues. Participates in on-call 24/7 support.
