What You'll Do Our People Technology team is seeking a seasoned technology professional to assume the role of Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with a focus on the global implementation and oversight of our new Vendor [Contingent Worker] Management System (VMS). The Senior BSA is a key member of the team who will work closely with Program Managers, Solution Architects, Business Systems Analysts, and key stakeholders to deliver solutions on the new contingent worker platform. This individual will serve as the key point of contact for the VMS and will play a critical role in aligning our business processes with advanced technological solutions, ensuring the seamless sourcing, screening, onboarding, monitoring, and offboarding of our contingent workforce. What you’ll do: You will be the primary liaison between the People & Culture (HR & Talent Acquisition) team, Financial Planning & Analysis team, Information Technology (IT) team, and the Vendor for all things related to the use and support of the vendor management system. You’ll build relationships with your stakeholders to understand their needs and convert those needs into technical requirements and solutions for IT and for the vendor. You will lead cross-functional technology projects including (but not limited to): the implementation of the VMS at Avalara, major enhancements and releases, and integrations with other corporate applications. You’ll also help your troubleshoot any system issues, and you’ll work closely with the vendor to ensure that we maximize our investment with the product. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with ambiguity & reasonable autonomy, researching & reading online documentation, configuring prototypes quickly and ensuring your skills are always growing. System Implementation: Lead the end-to-end implementation of the Vendor Management System, meticulously aligning system components with business and technical requirements. Platform Administration: Serve as the primary point of contact for system issues, documenting all user needs, resolving issues, and creating standard operating procedures. Analysis and Solutioning: Function as the primary analyst, distilling and interpreting stakeholder needs to formulate a comprehensive and coherent technology solution. Serve as the primary technical contact for prototypes and platform demonstrations. Collaborative Leadership: Foster collaboration among cross-functional teams, working closely with departments ranging from Information Technology to Talent Acquisition and Finance to achieve a unified and strategic approach to vendor and contingent worker management. Continuous Improvement: Establish and perpetuate a cycle of ongoing system enhancements, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to continuous improvement in response to evolving business dynamics. Technical Support: Provide comprehensive support and troubleshooting expertise to ensure the continuous operational integrity of the VMS. What You'll Need to be Successful Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in related field, Information Technology, Computer Science, etc. or equivalent and related work experience. Professional Experience: A minimum of 8 years in Information Technology in the capacity of a Business Systems Analyst, with at least 2 years dedicated to leading the implementation of or managing the support for a vendor management system or applicant tracking system (ATS). Technical Proficiency: A proven command of VMS platforms (or other similar platforms like HRIS, ATS, LMS, etc.) and requisite technical skills to implement and continously improve these platforms. Experience with platforms like Fieldglass, VNDLY, or Beeline is desired. Basic knowledge of Agile development methodologies. Communication Prowess: Exceptional communication skills to convey technical nuances simply and facilitate productive dialogue with stakeholders at various organizational levels. Ability to communicate complex technical information to a variety of audiences (technical and non-technical). Execution Excellence: Ability to effectively prioritize work, balancing support volume with project/product driven roles. Ability to work independently and as part of a global team. Innovative Aptitude: Proven ability to think innovatively, offering strategic insights and novel approaches to enhance business systems.
