Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.JR49390 Principal Systems Design EngineerMicron Technology’s Workload Engineering team is passionate about performance and power efficiency of memory devices for Client-Edge platforms, enabling Micron memory parts to stay ahead of the competition in both power and performance.As a Principal Architect or a Senior Manager, Client-Edge Systems Architecture at Micron Technology, Inc., you will chip in to the development of new architectures and products using Micron’s next generation Memory/Storage solutions for Micron’s Client and laptop Customers.Do you want to join inclusive Team!Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Defining Memory/Storage Systems’ architectural requirements with market competitive analysis for Client (laptop) platformsInnovating new solutions to sophisticated System level problems by collaborating with Engineering and Product Management teams with required System Level expertise , SW and HWDeveloping, evaluating and optimizing new memory/storage architectures that continuously improve cost, performance, power efficiency of Client DRAM productsDefining cost, performance, power metrics for Client-Edge platforms and quantifying solutions with justifying analysisUnderstanding and improving Architecture of Memory/Storage Controllers for efficient performanceEvaluating and demonstrating architecture trade-offs that impact memory subsystem performanceAnalysis and characterization of client workloads in several areas such as AI/ML inference, gaming and rendering.Characterization of AI-PC systems and emerging accelerator technologies in concert with the memory hierarchy therein.Own performance analysis end to end, by coming up with a value proposition to showcase a product, collecting requirements from stakeholders, putting together a system architecture, compiling a set of key workloads in AI/ML and gaming, conducting experiments and analyzing the data, deriving key insights and communicating it to stakeholders and customers.Successful candidate for this position will have the following:Must have a BS or Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical and/or Computer Engineering or Computer Science15+ years of experience in DRAM or NAND IPs or SoC or IP Design or Systems Architecture & Analysis for Client/Server/Mobile SoCsExperience in CPU, GPU, Image Processor, AI Processors, DDR, or systems developmentExperience in Client/Server/Mobile SoC or Memory Chip design or Systems developmentExperience in critical metric (Power, Performance, Thermal) analysis and in creating/enhancing/using various profiling (Latency, Power, etc.,) toolsStrong knowledge of Computer and Memory or Storage ArchitectureExperience with performance analysis, modeling, emulation or simulationExperience in leading highly skilled teams both technically and organizationallyGreat communications skills with the ability to articulate resultsStrong leadership skills and multi-functional collaborationSelf-motivated and significant problem-solving skillsPreferred Skills:10+ years of Mobile Platform SW or HW knowledgeStrong solid understanding of DRAM, NAND and other memory/storage devicesSolid Understanding of DDR or LPDDR3/4/5 PCIeExposure to Custom HW platform developmentStrong background in accelerating AI models in a PC environment
