The job holder will be responsible for overseeing the accounting function, ensuring accounting records are kept appropriately and reported results to comply with accounting standards and relevant legislation.

The job holder is also responsible to ensure that financial systems are in accordance with the international accounting standards, IFRS compliant, fit for purpose, appropriately maintained, and helps identify areas of improvement.


  • Identify cost out opportunities by formulating a link between business operations and financials to effectively understand and communicate the details of the cost structure to make data-driven decisions
  • Managing accounting operations (often including Revenue recognition, Margins, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Rebates and monetization booking, General Ledger and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting)
  • Coordinate and lead the preparation of monthly financial statements and other periodic financial reports.
  • Preparing the books as per International accounting standards and IFRS compliant.
  • Identifying the process gaps in accounting.
  • Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
  • Ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported.
  • Ensuring all reporting is compliant with statutory laws, Customs, VAT regulations, and financial regulations.
  • Documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Streamlining and improving accounting systems and operations
  • Managing the External and Internal audit process and liaising with external personnel for the end-to-end Audit Processes.


What you'll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Finance or a similar field, preferably a Master’s Degree
  • 8+ years of finance experience
  • Retail Experience is a must for this role.
  • Chartered Accountant, CPA, or ACCA preferred
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and/or experience in the areas of forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Measured experience demonstrating problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Highly detail-oriented with proven strong business sense
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workloads and achieve effective results in a fast-paced and, dynamic environment
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyzes to management for strategic decision-making
  • Experience building models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem-solving
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
