Engineering Manager - Cloud Ops

Description The role will be a manager within the Levi’s Enterprise Cloud Services Organization which is responsible for engineering, implementing, and managing the technology required to run a cloud-based technology across the enterprise.• Responsible for overseeing work assigned to the DevOps Team during Agile planning cycles• Responsible for overseeing developers and operations engineers to create and maintain the cloud infrastructure in a hybrid and multi-cloud environment• Contribute to strategic planning for cloud solutions• Develops and maintains service capacity forecasts, responsible for the day-to-day capacity and proactive management of services.• Proactively monitors cloud-based service offerings as they move through development, continuous integration, and pre-production, in addition to production itself.Key Responsibilities:• Responsible for coaching and managing a growing global cloud and DevOps team• Manage the implementation of successful DevOps solutions in a multi-cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure, Private Cloud, etc).*• Manage the SCRUM process for DevOps and Cloud based teams• Responsible for aligning objectives and roadmaps with Agile planning• Responsible for maintaining technical relevance as a technical manager• Ideal candidate should have 9+ years of prior experience in developing automation with DevOps tools for IT infrastructure such as: network, server, hypervisor, IaaS, etc.*• Explore and evaluate new technologies and solutions to push capabilities forward, getting ahead of our business needs, getting people incentivized to transform, innovate and continually improve.• Ensure the quality and performance of the platform through fully automated functional and performance testing.• Ensure deployment framework is tightly integrated across all workstreams and follows standard processes.• Responsible for training employees on all aspects of job (technical and admin) • Write and maintain technical documentation and requirements related to DevOps technologies • Monitor cloud consumption to detect, investigate, and escalate anomalies and unplanned spikes.• Responsible for maintaining and forecasting a departmental budget within an acceptable variance• Responsible for tracking and forecasting toolset utilization and capacity• Responsible for managing a follow the sun engineering and operations team.Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in technology field Technical Certifications highly preferred: Public Cloud Certification(s), DevOps tools certification(s)Years and Type of Experience Required:• Experience at utilizing toolsets such as: Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, XL Release, Artifactory, GitHub.A minimum of 3 years’ experience in hands-on Cloud Administration• A minimum of 2 years’ experience managing Cloud Operations teams.• Experience designing DevOps pipelines and architecture• Ability to participate in fast-paced DevOps and Engineering teams within Scrum agile processes• Experience consulting with business process and functional unit owners• Basic knowledge of querying and organizing data• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English• Motivated, results-oriented self-starter, curious and inquisitive• Must be capable of performing effective touch-point/counseling with team members.
