Software Asset Manager

SUMMARY This role will lead the expansion and evolution of the RealPage enterprise-wide governance program, with a focus on Software Asset Management (SAM) while encompassing broader asset management initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong influencing skills, driving collaboration across teams to support Asset Management-related initiatives. You will oversee the transparency of software assets, manage compliance and cost-saving projects, and develop roadmaps to optimize software investments. Significant licensing expertise is required for this role. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Implement an enterprise-wide Persona-based Software Catalog, providing comprehensive visibility into software entitlements, usage, platforms, versioning, ownership, and license details. Review software purchases and license documentation to ensure internal license compliance. Conduct software license audits for high and medium-risk products, ensuring all required information is obtained or negotiated. Produce reports on software auditing and compliance results. Review high-value contracts and maintenance renewals to identify cost and risk reduction opportunities. Administer policies and procedures related to software management. Track software renewals and identify optimization and savings opportunities. Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, Procurement, and Internal Business to oversee license management. Lead the management of on-premises and SaaS software licenses through the Snow Software asset management tool. Enhance software tracking and reporting processes, providing input for annual budget planning and developing software control measures. Respond to requests for specific data from end-users, internal customers, and business partners. Lead vendor software audits by organizing software asset data and driving compliance activities. Optimize existing software inventory management tools and contribute to long-term tools roadmap planning. Analyze and present product, licensing, and maintenance alternatives for software purchases to IT management. Ensure accuracy of SAM data, including contractual metadata in the tool. Drive software license compliance and govern processes around compliance audit activities. Provide input for annual budget planning guidance and develop software control measures. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment. REQUIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field. Minimum 7+ years of experience leading IT/Software asset management programs. 3+ years of team management experience. Strong understanding of software licensing models, terms, and metrics. Experience with software contracts and optimizing license positions. Knowledge of Snow Software asset management and compliance reporting. Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. Proven experience in implementing process improvements and project management practices. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines in a detail-oriented manner. Ability to interact effectively across multiple levels of management and functions. PREFERED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES Master's Degree in Information Systems or Business Management. Audit experience: IT, Financial, License, and Operational Audits. CSAM (Certified Software Asset Manager) Certificate, PMP (Project Management Professional) certification.
