WHO WE ARE

Start Up! is an impact accelerator, eco-system builder and leadership springboard for social entrepreneurs. We enable social entrepreneurs to thrive through design, strategy and leadership-building solutions. We seed and scale social ventures that create lasting impact in excluded communities. 

 

WHAT WE DO

We work with social ventures (across the profit- non-profit continuum) that are at different stages in their lifecycle- seed, growth and maturity. We build enduring change models with focus on innovation, impact and sustainability.

Over 13 years, Start Up! has incubated and scaled more than 100 social ventures and delivered 175 change projects in 15 states. We have trained 350 leaders of grassroots, small and medium-scale social enterprises in strategic planning and leadership building. We have also incubated incubators.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 

We are looking for an intrapreneurial professional with demonstrated leadership in the social entrepreneurship and/or development sector and a keenness to grow Start Up’s unique impact model. You will be part of an “Everybody an Intrapraneur” team that builds vibrant social ventures and an active eco-system for social entrepreneurship across India.

 

Role: Program Manager

Location: New Delhi

Work arrangement: Full-time permanent position.

Reporting: The CXO team

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1.Strengthening and Scaling High Impact Social Change Ventures

You will work with social entrepreneurs to develop detailed strategy and leadership programs for them to seed, strengthen, and scale their social change ventures, models, and programs, based on Start Up’s 8 Step Methodology. 

This will require you to:

 

Coordinate and manage strategic planning and sustainability building programs and processes:

v Conduct organizational assessment exercises and develop audit reports of organizations run by social entrepreneurs.

v Conduct rigorous and high quality secondary and primary research to develop sector maps and insights and opportunity reports towards tracking emerging trends, insights, and solutions for strategic planning.

v Co-facilitate and document organizational envisioning and strategy workshops.

v Develop excellent quality strategy plans, business plans and operations plan for social entrepreneurs.

v Build tools and frameworks where necessary for strategy plans.

 

Develop and implement leadership training programs for social entrepreneurs and grassroots organizations:

v Conduct needs assessment surveys.

v Design, develop, execute, and evaluate leadership training programs/coaching mentoring interventions.

v Capture insights and learnings on leadership building on development sector.

 

Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of solutions:

v Ensure excellent project management, utilization of time and resources, and effective and timely; Manage the project management tools and processes.

v Ensure timely and affective communication with all stakeholders.

v Coordinate a system for regular feedback from clients and partners.

v Consistently provide excellent quality research and documentation that meet the quality standards of the organization.

v Develop proposals in partnership with the CXO teams.

v Build excellent professional relationships with our partners.

v Work smoothly with peers and managers and receive constructive feedback well.

v Go beyond own deliverables to support others in the team or the larger organization where required.

 

 

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

 

Knowledge/ Technical Skills

v Experience in strategic planning, and/or organizational and leadership development processes: strong grasp over systems processes and tools for strategy planning and leadership development.

v Excellent research, analysis and writing skills: ability to develop strategy reports and presentations with limited supervision.

v Ability to communicate with precision, analyze data and develop client-ready presentations.

v Outstanding project management skills

v Strong understanding of social entrepreneurship in India and globally.

v Experience in facilitating and documenting workshops.

v Knowledge of monitoring, evaluation and learning framework and tools preferred.

v Ability to deliver projects and program in a structured and process-focussed manner, within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, outcome-oriented work environment.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

v Post-graduation, with specialization in social entrepreneurship or liberal arts or economics or business studies preferred.

v Minimum 8 years of experience- either as a lead team member in a social enterprise and/or non-profit organization and/or eco-system building. Prior experience in a consulting venture or strategic communication, fundraising and research functions would be preferred.

v Fluency in English and Hindi; knowledge of additional Indian languages will be a plus.

v Excellent skills in MS office/equivalent applications, especially MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
