Transformation & Change Program Manager

Location: Gurgaon


Mercer is seeking a Program Manager with experience in designing, project managing and executing complex operational change. You will need to be a strategic thinker with experience of working on target operating models and M&A type projects and be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of how an organization works. Reporting to the Global Transformation & Change Delivery Team within the Operations & Technology organization, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and executing transformation programs to deliver key strategic initiatives for the organization.

We will rely on you to:

  • Lead and manage highly complex, broad, and/or multi-year international programs and projects, ensuring successful delivery of key strategic initiatives.
  • C-Suite business leaders and staff in scoping, defining, planning, and executing programs and projects, validating and quantifying assumptions.
  • requirements into tangible outputs, outcomes, and benefits.
  • detailed program delivery roadmaps, including resources, outcomes, schedules, costs, assumptions, dependencies, and business integration plans for large-scale, complex strategic initiatives.
  • as a subject matter expert in design and delivery, providing guidance and support to the wider business in defining the right approaches and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose.
  • effective relationships with senior business partners and third-party vendors, facilitating timely decision-making and communication of progress, risks, and issues to key stakeholders.


What you need to have :

  • 15+years of professional services experience, with 8+ years in designing and implementing changes to operating models in financial services.
  • experience as a Program Manager leading large and complex programs across matrix structured organizations, ideally across continents/regions.
  • track record in managing and coordinating implementation with teams across different locations, including off-shoring/near-shoring teams.
  • understanding of change management principles and the ability to drive sustainable changes within the organization.
  • communication and diplomacy skills, with the ability to guide, influence, and convince colleagues, leaders, and external stakeholders.
  • experience in target operating models (TOM) design and organizational change programs, with a focus on stakeholder management and communication at the C-Suite level.


Must-have:

  • Experience with external consulting
  • Experience with operating model design related projects and profitability
  • 7 years of relevant op model / profitability design experience
  • Tier 1 or 2 B-school (6 IIMs, ISB, MDI, NITIE, XLRI, etc.)


Good to have:

  • Prior Mercer experience
  • Execution of projects, such as execution manager or project manager
  • Business analysis experience
  • Experience in implementation delivery, particularly technology-related projects
  • Experience in the financial services industry, insurance / banking / investment management
  • Knowledge of Technology/AI



What makes you stand out:

  • MBA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Relevant program management qualification: MSP/PMI/APM or equivalent.
  • Experience in Employee Benefits / Pensions / Investments or HR Consulting business and solutions is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Understanding of how to work with different cultures globally to deliver programs.
