Technical Role and Responsibilities Experience within design work, preferably within technology areas with similarities to the actual position. Analog and digital circuit design Microcontroller selection and building external circuitry for its peripherals Use of ADC / DAC and its interface with microcontrollers Experience in switch mode power supply, LDO design Simulation of electronic circuit and component using simulation tools PSPICE, LTSPICE Electronic component evaluation for suitability and characteristics Good knowledge in Circuit board schematic and PCB layout design, using eCAD toolchain like Altium, Cadence Allegro, etc. Awareness of DFM (design for manufacturing) and DFT (design for testing) guidelines Exposure to reliability calculation, MTBF, fault tolerant design, worst case circuit analysis Experience in providing input to PCB engineer for placement and routing and review of finished PCB layouts Experience in working with Mechanical CAD engineer for defining right enclosure for electronics Experience in BOM cost optimization Good knowledge in design for EMC Experience in using electronic measuring equipment like oscilloscope, function generator, etc. Experience in pre-compliance and compliance testing Good knowledge in vehicle communication protocols (CAN/LIN) Good knowledge in Requirements engineering and associated tools like DOORS, Enterprise Architect, PTC Integrity General knowledge of development processes, methods, and tools. Personal qualities appropriate for working in a design team; analytical, structured, good communicative skills and able to take initiatives. Exposure to component obsolescence management Exposure of using any PLM tool Fluent knowledge in English, spoken and written Derive hardware requirements specification from customer requirements and system design specification. Design hardware specification in accordance with the hardware requirements and system design specification. Create reliability calculation, MTBF, fault tolerant design, worst case circuit analysis Verify hardware design using theoretical calculations, analysis, simulations and test. Create documents for manufacturing of PCB’s and PCBA’s. Analyse test data from HW test engineer to ensure that the design fulfils all requirements. Create HW/SW interface specifications in collaboration with SW designer. Anchor the production feasibility of the product with CFT and purchase organization. Work according to agreed processes and tools and support continuous improvement of them. Escalate deviations to Electronics COE Manager and project responsible. Ensure that a safe development process is applied and that the end-product is safe. Report working hours spent on different projects.
