Intellect’s CTO Office is looking to fulfil a position for a functional role of Senior
Patent Specialist who will support with patent related expertise to the Lines of
Business (LOB) across Intellect.
Roles and Responsibilities
● Works closely with inventors and business representatives to understand
inventions and determine the invention’s business impact in the industry.
● Conduct reviews of patentability and freedom-to-operate (FTO).
● Draft and review portions of patent applications (including drawings) and
examination responses from patent offices across the globe.
● Interact with patent examiners during the prosecution process to address
queries and ensure the successful issuance of patents.
● Manage responses to office actions and other official communications.
● Work closely with the Legal team from time to time, as required.
Competencies and Abilities
● Thorough understanding of basic patent concepts, patent procedures and
patenting techniques is a must.
● Candidate must have the ability to quickly understand new inventions,
identify key issues and differentiators. Flexibility and ability to smoothly
move from one technology to another are a plus.
● Ability to conduct prior art searches using free and commercial patent
databases is a must.
● Excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Particularly
strong in persuasive writing and reasoning skills is highly desirable.
● Ability to juggle between multiple priorities and competing demands based
on business criticality.
Qualification and Experience
● Bachelor /Master Degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 6 years
of relevant experience.
● The professional experience may consist of research and development
(R&D) with a minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in patent
matters.
