Senior iSeries Engineer

The Cloud Managed Services Engineer (L3) is responsible for providing a managed service to clients by proactively identifying and resolving cloud-based incident and problems. Through pre-emptive service incident and resolution activities, as well as product reviews, operational improvements, operational practices, and quality assurance this role maintains a high level of service to clients. The primary objective of this role is to ensure zero missed service level agreement (SLA) conditions. This role is responsible for managing tickets of high complexity, conducts advanced and complicated tasks, and provides resolution to a diverse range of complex problems. This position uses considerable judgment and independent analysis within defined policies and practices. This role applies analytical thinking and deep technical expertise in achieving client outcomes, while coaching and mentoring junior team members across functions.This role may also contribute to / support on project work as and when required.Working at NTTRole & responsibilitiesAs the IBM i System Administrator, you will be responsible for the daily operations of our systems our IBM i systems (AS). The goal of this position is to; maintain maximum availability of our IBM i server environment.Experience : 10 + years of experienceSkills• Excellent understanding & skills on IBMi System architecture• Strong knowledge in iSeries/AS administration, including OS and security administration and resolve any cross functional issues.• Experience in AS Security Management, Communications, Operating System Upgrades and PTF deployment, Independent Auxiliary Storage Pools (iASP's), and Storage Based Replication• Has performed at least one major operating system upgrade• Has performed at least one full system restore (site-down / crash).• Experience in using journaling, especially remote journaling.• Experience in high availability software and multiple data centers.• Knowledge in Performance tuning & Capacity planningSkills SummaryAPI Integration, Cloud Infrastructure, Cloud Networking, Cloud Services Management, Computing, Infrastructure Deployment, Performance Optimizations, TroubleshootingWhat will make you a good fit for the role?
