Scrum Master - Payments Background Must

Purpose

•You coach and lead the squad on best practice agile ways of working, fostering and environment of high performance, continuous flow and relentless improvement.

•You are the driving force to enabling your team to be self-organised, promoting a collaborative team environment that foster creativity, innovation, continuous improvement and celebrate success.

•You facilitate agile forums (e.g.; daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retros and showcase) and manage squad artefacts

•You role model agile behaviours at ceremonies and influence all members of the squad by regularly providing feedback and guidance

•You participate in Scrum of Scrums for relevant squads with associated Scrum Masters to remove risks, dependencies, issues and blockers

•You track and communicate squad metrics (e.g.; sprint burndown, velocity, lead time and cycle time, commitment reliability)

•You coordinate squad activities (from facilitating agile-scrum ceremonies to continuous improvement initiatives) to enable the squad to focus on delivery of customer and business value.

Experience

•8+ years experience across agile ways of working and delivery, with in-depth knowledge of agile techniques: creating user stories, defining acceptance criteria and managing squad artefacts

•Ability to navigate a large complex organisation and build relationships with stakeholders using formal and informal networks

•Ability to measure performance and create an environment of continuous learning

•Experience in leading and coaching teams (8-12 people)

•Extensive experience in a previous scrum master role (hatted or unhated)

•Experience with multiple teams simultaneously and/or with teams in a complex environment

•Experience with workflow tools (e.g., Rally, Jira)

Key Accountabilities

•Identify ways to improve team health, productivity and uplift agile ways of working within the squad within complex working environments

•Gather, analyse, and present data to stakeholders in a way that demonstrates how the team is improving and growing.

•Responsible for coaching, supporting and mentoring scrum framework practices and Agile principles to the teams , Product owner and the organisation

•Lead and facilitate Scrum events using Agile practices, tools and processes and create consistency of delivery practices across the teams

•Be the driving force and guide teams to be self-organised, promote a collaborative team environment that foster creativity, innovation, continuous improvement and celebrate successes

•Ensure the squad is equipped with right talent, time, tools and skills to do their work, with leaders expected to manage resources (people, budgets, assets) and coach teams to build competence and confidence

•Gather, analyse, and present data to business stakeholders in a way that demonstrates how the team is improving and growing

•Collaborate with Product Owners to maximise productivity and to ensure effective backlog management

•Manage and build strong, trusted relationships with Engineers and Product Owners to track status of implementation and improve requirements and vision

•Maintain sprint flow by minimising external disturbances, manage risks or impediments and remove blockers and hurdles

•Lead Scrum process in a highly complex environment (e.g.; lower team maturity in Scrum and Agile, higher regulatory compliance and policy alignment requirements, wider range of dependencies, amount or seniority of stakeholders)

•Engage with stakeholders outside of the allocated squad to ensure the Scrum Process is successful and adopted within the allocated squad

•Keeping the squad honest to the agile values and principles and values

•Delivered projects/programs of 5-10 Million AUD

•Relevant experience of delivering mandatory programme in a global distributed delivery model within payments domain

•Scrum Master and delivery experience in Vendor Managed squads/Hybrid squads

•Experience working in an ecosystem of vendor provides products/systems

•People Management and ability to develop SM skill set
