Role Summary: The statistician will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on epidemiology and other public health research.

Responsibilities:

• Help with data management and preliminary analyses for pilot projects.
• Set up electronic and paper forms for data collection or data abstraction.
• Contribute to drafting analysis plans and methods for proposals.
• Analyses of data from large public access databases, electronic health records, as well as an array of different types of studies.
• Clean and compile data, document, and maintain data repositories with data dictionaries and meta-data. Create subsets of data for students and faculty.
• Prepare reports.

Qualification:

• Masters in Biostatistics or equivalent with at least three years of experience in statistical analyses.

Key Skills:

• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Proficiency in one or more statistical software.
• Ability to organise, document, and maintain large research project datasets.
• Familiarity with epidemiology/health research is desirable.
• Proficiency in conducting analyses including regression analyses (linear, logistic, Cox, and Poisson, with appropriate control of confounding.
• Ability to write statistical sections for proposals, manuscripts, and reports.
• Experience with sample size and power calculations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
