Position Title: Polymer Chemist

JOB PURPOSE:

Aurolab, being a manufacturing facility specializing in the production of ophthalmic products, may require the expertise of polymer chemists in various capacities.

Key Responsibilities:


Research and Development (R&D)

  • Developing new polymers or modifying existing ones to enhance the properties of ophthalmic products, such as intraocular lenses (IOLs), contact lenses, or surgical devices.
  • Conducting experiments to optimize polymer formulations for specific applications, considering factors like biocompatibility, mechanical strength, and optical clarity.

Quality Control (QC)

  • Ensuring the quality and consistency of polymer materials used in manufacturing processes through testing and analysis.
  • Establishing and implementing quality control protocols to meet regulatory standards and specifications for ophthalmic products.

Process Optimization

  • Collaborating with engineers and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes involving polymer materials.
  • Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and waste minimization in polymer processing.

Material Characterization

  • Characterizing the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of polymer materials using techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and microscopy.
  • Analyzing the stability and degradation behavior of polymers over time to ensure product longevity and performance.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and standards relevant to ophthalmic products and polymer materials.
  • Providing technical expertise and documentation support for regulatory submissions and compliance audits.

Product Innovation

  • to the innovation pipeline by identifying emerging trends, technologies, and opportunities in polymer science related to ophthalmology.
  • with cross-functional teams to conceptualize, design, and prototype novel ophthalmic products based on advanced polymer materials.

Technical Support

  • technical support to other departments, including manufacturing, engineering, and sales, on matters related to polymer chemistry and materials science.
  • issues related to polymer materials or processes, and implementing corrective actions to maintain product quality and performance.

Collaboration and Communication

  • with internal teams and external partners, such as research institutions or suppliers, to leverage expertise and resources in polymer science.
  • findings, recommendations, and project updates effectively through reports, presentations, and meetings.


Position Requirements:


Educational Qualifications: B.Tech/M.Tech/PHD in Polymer


Experience: 10-15 Years’ experience
