Job description:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • The Design Engineer is responsible for design of new or existing products, in line with planning, process, legal and quality targets.
  • He/she should be able to create complete engineering designs translated in CAD models and creates all the associated documentation as per program requirements.
  • Principle Accountability:
  • Candidate s should have hands on experience in Automotive BIW Underbody & Upper Body Components with knowledge of manufacturing process.
  • Should have knowledge of BIW structure interfaces & packaging requirements.
  • Ability to check and manage clearance to interface parts.
  • Communicate with the customer on day-to-day activities.
  • Should have knowledge related to BIW components & Master sections,
  • Should have knowledge of GD & T, Manufacturing process,
  • Should have knowledge of BOM management, DMU Management,
  • Tracking and maintaining detailed timing plans for the components/systems
  • Identification & Documentation of any non-compliances to design rules
  • Should be able to conduct/Participate regular design reviews and escalate issues requiring help to management
  • Should be able to communicate effectively with Client, within team, suppliers and with Other stakeholders
  • Support Lead Engineer in Design review, DFMEA to optimize design.
  • Should have experience of CATIA V6 CatiaV5, Surface modelling, 2D creation, Annotation, Product structure
  • Component release in PLM System


Must have the following experience:

  • Experience on CAD tools - Catia V5, CatiaV6, Teamcenter, Enovia
  • PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc
  • General Engineering knowledge, Automobile, BIW, strength of ma terial, Materials etc
  • Exposure to design and development environment.
  • Exposure on design standards
