Cullet buyer

The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented team player who will oversee the entire order process. You will review proposals, negotiate prices, select the best suppliers, analyze trends, follow up with placed orders, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records.

Job Responsibilities:

RECYCLED RAW MATERIAL (80%)

• Sourcing - Primarily responsible for sourcing cullet (ICR or PCR) from domestic and international sources to meet ESG and economic rationale.
• Monitor the marketplace (technology providers, equipment suppliers, competitors, industry organizations) to identify best practices for glass recycling.
• Perform continued research (primary & secondary) of domestic & imported sources and interact with the vendors to create long term relationships. Build internal networks and leverage existing technologies, expertise, and resources to execute work.
• Build relationship with suppliers and negotiating with them for the best price, quantities, and delivery timescales.
• Regular visits to cullet vendors across India to understand the market conditions on availability and prices (both amber & flint)
• Evaluate setting up of collection centres (by tying up with municipalities, customers, vendors, hotel chains etc ) and return logistics from these centres into the plants
• Do price comparisons on landed basis and sit on negotiations along with GM SCM
• Quality
• Evaluate Quality & availability of Cullet for Glass production.
• Lead process trials both internally and externally to establish manufacturing process designs and control schemes.
• Apply knowledge of scientific fundamentals and experimental design in projects along with Glass Technologist and Chemical Labs
• Coordinate testing, analyse data, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and implement improvements to process approaches and designs. Recognize problems and initiate corrective actions.
• ESG –
• Understand and comply with all environmental, health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Liaison with Pollution Control Boards (PCBs) and GoI – Ministry of Commerce for obtaining import license.
• Prepare MIS for Management on above points regularly.

SUPPORT ONGOING OPERATIONS (20%)

• Provide root cause analysis, and problem resolution to performance issues resulting from recycling.
• Apply knowledge of scientific fundamentals, statistics, and experimental design to provide assessments and recommendations.
• Share best practices across projects and operations.
