Position Summary

The Senior Specialist, IT Change Control & Release Management provides process oversight for change control and release management functions as a vital foundational component of the IT Service Management practice at Bristol-Myers Squibb. The Change Control and Release Management process is a critical control process to minimize risk and disruption to IT services when a change is implemented in production. This role requires an individual that is process and detail oriented, comfortable working in a dynamic environment, able to manage competing demands and can work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chair the Change Advisory Board (CAB) to perform impact analysis to minimize risk and disruption to the changes made to the production environment.
  • Assess change readiness with feedback from the impacted stakeholders; Ensure that quality of the change conforms to the IT change policy.
  • Schedule the Change Advisory Board meetings. Identify opportunities and deploy efficiencies within the Change Control & Release Management Process.
  • Support reporting and metric delivery for process measurement.
  • Work closely with Service Providers to ensure compliance to the Change Process
  • Monitor and Govern the health of the Change process for adherence, performance & quality through Reporting and Analytics.
  • Respond promptly to audit questions and requirements.
  • Apply skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and established policies and procedures to perform trend analysis and guide Change Control & Release Management Operations.
  • Perform UAT testing during IT Change Control & Release Management technology upgrades or enhancements; including build & execute testing scripts.
  • Provide consulting services within the team and to other BMS departments in recommending corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead process interactions between Change Control & Release Management and other processes/teams, including Quality Management.
  • Author & curate Job Aids and other documentation.
  • Conduct Change Control & Release Management Training for new & existing users to ensure adherence to the process. Support Change Control & Release Management Process Owner as needed.
  • Provide input to IT Service Management Overall and present findings and make recommendations as needed.


Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor in Information Technology, Engineering, or Science.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology, service management, change control and release management.
  • Experience leveraging ServiceNow service management technology.


Ideal Candidates Would Also Have:

  • Prefer Pharma and/or biotech experience in a training or document management role.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills that can provide insight and highlight implications and recommendations to management.
  • Demonstrated ability to ask probing questions, identify risk and assess situations quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to a diverse audience at multiple levels across the organization.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, process knowledge and lateral thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and organize effectively across multiple projects and tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate, and communicate directly with stakeholders.
