Position Overview: We are seeking a seasoned and highly accomplished Senior Payment Architect with over 15 years of extensive experience in the banking and financial services industry. The successful candidate will lead the strategic design and implementation of cutting-edge payment solutions, leveraging their deep domain expertise and technical proficiency. Key Responsibilities:

  • Payment Strategy Development: Define and execute the payment architecture strategy, aligning it with business objectives, industry trends, and regulatory requirements. Provide thought leadership in identifying emerging payment technologies and opportunities for innovation.
  • Solution Design and Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of complex payment solutions, encompassing diverse methodologies such as real-time payments, cross-border payments, and digital wallets. Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and compliant with industry standards.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as the primary technical authority for payment systems, guiding cross-functional teams in the selection, integration, and customization of payment platforms and technologies. Mentor junior architects and engineers to foster skill development and knowledge transfer.
  • Risk Management and Compliance: Assess and mitigate risks associated with payment systems, including security vulnerabilities, fraud prevention, and regulatory compliance. Stay abreast of evolving regulatory frameworks and industry best practices to ensure adherence to standards such as PSD2, GDPR, and ISO 20022.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, and external partners to understand requirements, define solution architectures, and prioritize initiatives. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive consensus and alignment on payment strategies and priorities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the performance, reliability, and efficiency of payment systems. Champion a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging experimentation with new technologies and methodologies to enhance payment capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in payment architecture, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex payment solutions in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Deep technical expertise in payment technologies, including but not limited to payment gateways, transaction processing, encryption standards, and tokenization methods.
  • Extensive knowledge of payment protocols and standards such as ISO 8583, EMV, SWIFT, and blockchain-based solutions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks relevant to payment systems, such as PCI DSS, PSD2, and AML/KYC regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Payments Professional (CPP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or TOGAF certification would be advantageous.
