Software Support Engineer - PHP

Position Summary & Objective This role handles keeping our existing systems and providing support to business. The Software Engineer will partner with the Software Engineering and Software Quality Assurance Engineering teams, IT (Information Technology) and Systems Analysis teams to debug and fix software solutions. Essential Functions Performed by this Position: Work as part of the engineering support team for supporting existing platforms. Hands on resolution of issues with creative thinking, resolving tickets using technology and automation. Create tools/utilities/plug-ins to automate resolution of issues. Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve system issues. Proper escalation of unresolved issues to the proper internal teams using standard procedures. Resolve network and configuration issues. Resolve customer reported issues. Meet established service level timelines when resolving support tickets. Monitor applications using dashboards and alerts. Maintain playbooks and document technical knowledge in the form of notes and manuals. Work with other teams to resolve issues and dependencies. Participate in self-organized Scrum teams by following Agile practices and actively take part in backlog refinement, release, and sprint planning activities. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, enterprise-class software on-time and of high quality. Knowledgeable in the software development lifecycle. Possess effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal (for non-English speaking countries). Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal. Ability to work effectively as a team member, across project teams, and independently. Ability to multi-task and balance priorities to meet challenging deadlines. General Experience in web scraping Adeptness in Linux command-line operations, packing installations, and executing precise tasks in a production AWS environment Comprehensive understanding of Regular Expressions and proficiency with either CSS selectors or XPath. Experience in PHP programming Experience with debugging and troubleshooting PHP code Working knowledge of source control systems like Git. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
