To support this initiative, we’ve launched Karmann, a home and lifestyle brand exclusively staffed by trained artisans with disabilities. Karmann serves as a proof of concept for creating a profitable business leveraging the talents of PWDs. This role reports into the Director. The key role is to oversee all the departments at Karmann. The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the production team, consisting primarily of tailors with disabilities, to meet production targets and maintain high-quality standards with cost and resource efficiency. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise and manage the production team of tailors and partner organisations, providing guidance, support, and training as needed to optimize their performance Maintains good relations with production team, partner organizations & business contacts & addresses any challenges/grievances. Plan and schedule production activities to meet customer orders and maintain optimal inventory levels Keeps track of production quantities, documents & reports daily production targets for each tailor and maintains data in spreadsheets. Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to ensure smooth production flow and timely delivery of orders Handle any production-related issues or concerns in a timely and effective manner, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to find solutions Develops a network of business contacts for outsourcing Communicates any anticipated delays/shortfall in production from any stakeholder with management team Is reasonably good at-risk assessment, foreseeing potential challenges and has a plan to address such challenges Reviewing orders for completeness and forwarding incomplete orders for further processing Implement and maintain production procedures, including safety protocols and quality control measures, to ensure a safe and productive work environment Monitor and analyze production data to identify trends, assess performance, and make informed decisions for continuous improvement Education and Experience: 3+ years’ experience, preferably in apparel/textile industry Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Proven experience in production management, preferably in a manufacturing or textile industry 1 year supervisory experience is preferred Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of production processes and techniques, particularly in tailoring and garment manufacturing. Familiarity with quality control standards and procedures. Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in an inclusive work environment is preferred but not required. Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office and production management software. Location and Travel: This is a full-time role based in Mumbai, will involve travelling to locations of manufacturing units set up at multiple locations.
