Job Description :

QA Automation Rest Assured Test Engineer

Software Requirements:

• Experience with web applications and APIs

Overall Responsibilities:

• Champion API test automation initiatives using Rest Assured
• Design and implement comprehensive test plans targeting API functionalities
• Collaborate closely with developers to understand API specifications and behavior
• Identify, report, and effectively troubleshoot bugs and defects discovered within the API
• Maintain and update existing test automation scripts for optimal performance
• Participate actively in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in API testing methodologies

Technical Skills (Category-wise):

• Must-Have Skills:
• Java Programming (Strong foundation)
• Rest Assured (Proven experience in API automation)
• Selenium (Experience with UI automation)
• Preferred Skills:
• Playwright (Familiarity with a modern UI automation framework)
• MySQL (Working knowledge of databases)
• Additional Skills:
• Experience with API testing methodologies (e.g., BDD)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines

Experience:

• 5-8 years of experience in software testing with a focus on API testing
• Proven experience with Rest Assured for API automation is essential

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Analyze API documentation and design comprehensive test cases
• Develop and execute automated test scripts for various API functionalities
• Debug and troubleshoot any API test failure scenarios effectively
• Document and track API test results meticulously
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

Qualifications & Soft Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Passionate about quality assurance and a continuous improvement mindset
• Positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a desire to adapt to new technologies

Points:

• Experience with Playwright for UI automation
• Working knowledge of MySQL databases
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
