Senior Server Engineer

Please find teh JD: Job Description: – 10-12+ years in Linux Systems Administration role in a large physical and virtual environment required. 10-12+ years’ experience in Redhat Linux administration (must have). 10-12+ years’ experience in UNIX administration experience or equivalent (must have) 10-12+ years’ experience in SAN administration experience or equivalent (NetApps) (preferred) 10-12+ years’ experience in Solaris Administration (Preferred) 10+ years’ experience in Redhat Virtualization (Preferred) Candidate will possess strong knowledge of Linux systems and internals (CentOS/Ubuntu preferred), with a good understanding of networking and related protocols. Experience in supporting and troubleshooting a large-scale Linux server production environments attached to enterprise class storages. Working knowledge of NetApp Ontap (nice to have).. Familiar and comfortable with the following: Apache, Tomcat, SNMP, dtrace/strace and network analysis tools, data transfer services like FTP, SFTP, rsync. Strong experience with IPMP, Jumpstart, Kickstart, NIS, IP Tables, DNS is a must. Strong experience with configuration management & monitoring tools (like Puppet, Solarwinds, Nagios etc) is a must Proficiency with source control, continuous integration and testing methods (svn, git) is preferred. Knowledge of load balancers and Layer 7 traffic routing via haproxy, NetScalers, F5, or equivalent is preferred. Should be aware of performance tuning, user management, security and syslog services Must be able to clearly document processes, policies, and procedures in a timely basis. Very good experience in building, maintaining Unix/ Linux clusters Demonstrated ability to leverage appropriate technical tools to perform day-to-day administration tasks, root-cause analysis and service restoration (such as backup, restore, failover, log interpretation, and performance monitoring) for Unix/Linux/Solaris Experience in Veritas & NetBackup . Knowledge in Exadata will be added advantage. Experience in supporting large RDBMS environment (Oracle) for internal as well as for cloud environment (preferred) . Experience supporting 24x7 multi-tier web-based application environments Ability to program in at least one scripting language in addition to Bash (Perl). (nice to have) Troubleshooting/problem solving skills (must have) Firewalls/IPTABLES (nice to have) PKI/GPG (nice to have) DB administration skills (Optional) ITIL v3 Foundation (nice to have) 2+ years IT supervision or equivalent (Preferred) Experience working with larger international organizations will be preferred.
