Responsible for Supplier quality of materials and components used in Distribution and Power Transformers. Establish, manage and implement Supplier Quality Management system to meet quality, delivery, and cost objectives Study technical, customer and statutory requirements against materials and prepare procedures and inspection check sheets. Maintain list of approved suppliers Supplier on-site assessment and approvals Maintain supplier assessment details in ERP. Assign performance metrics to suppliers and drive suppliers to produce high quality parts consistently, with improvement in yields. Development, assessment and approval of alternate products/suppliers in coordination with and Procurement Ensure that adequate approved supplies of materials are available for business operations review of existing supplier performance and taking necessary measures in coordination with Procurement. Review and evaluate supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities Perform on-site supplier visits for periodical assessment, root cause analysis and verification of actions of supplier quality issues Train suppliers on quality control methods for their products or services Preparation and circulation of MIS Comply with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Conduct root cause analysis and identify corrections / corrective actions Desired Skills Sound knowledge on all national & international standards (IS, IEC, IEEE, ASTM, etc) those are to materials and components those are used in Distribution and Power transformers like CRGO steel, winding wires, Transformer oil steel (SS, HR, CR), Fabricated components, Machining components, HDG components, plated components, galvanized / painted tanks, components, etc., Experience of 100+ on-site supplier assessment audits. Knowledge on all relevant tests those are applicable to materials and components used in Distribution and Power transformers Knowledge on assessment of machined components and fabricated items including galvanized/Painted tank and components Knowledge on Quality tools Ability to work in cross functional teams Willingness to travel 80-100 days per year Knowledge on statutory requirements SQM certification is preferred. Experience of 100+ on-site supplier assessment audits.
