Senior Data Scientist [T500-**]

Primary Functions:

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of statistical and ML models and tools
• Collaborates with COE team and business owners to take a data-driven approach in identifying key customer pain-points, uncover insights, and develop techniques to address these issues.
• Deliver actionable insights to stakeholders informed by robust statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and report results to leadership team.
• Standup analytics for Delta’s new personalization experiences and deliver cadenced reporting for current experiences.
• Build, calibrate and enhance existing models, and monitor model performance.
• Leverage emerging technologies and identify efficient and meaningful ways to deliver meaningful insights to the business.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, mathematics, or related field 5-7 years of relevant work experience required.
• Master's degree and 4+ years proven experience in data science or machine learning.
• Ability to translate business problem to a prediction or optimization problem.
• Strong knowledge of regression methods, supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Working knowledge of forecasting and causal inference methods
• Strong foundations with optimal data querying/modeling with SQL (CTE, Window functions etc.)
• Experience with at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, R or SAS) and deep knowledge of analytical packages and libraries
• Nice to have experience in linear programming and non-linear optimization methods.
• Must possess strong business acumen, analytical, oral, and written communication skills.
• Candidate should be known for integrity, intelligence, and professional maturity.
• Ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment in a creative and innovative fashion.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS):

• Experience in instrumenting ML solutions in AWS (e.g., Sagemaker)
• Experience building uplift modeling.
• Prior experience with Delta or other airline or Hospitality data a plus
• Experience collaborating with a global team.
• Intensely curious about finding a solution to the pain-points of our customers along the entire travel experience.
