We're seeking a VP of Geospatial who will report directly to the Chief Technology Officer . This pivotal role entails not only managing and executing projects but also driving strategic initiatives to achieve our company goals. The VP of Geospatial will spearhead the development and implementation of geospatial strategies, technologies, and solutions to foster business growth and innovation. Key Responsibilities: Geospatial Strategy: Develop and execute a geospatial strategy aligned with company goals and market trends. Identify opportunities to optimize existing offerings and innovate new solutions using geospatial data. Product Development: Oversee geospatial product/service creation, ensuring quality and client needs. Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize features. Partner with product managers and stakeholders to prioritize feature sets and improvements. Collaborative Innovation: Work with the AI/ML team to blend geospatial data and algorithms, speeding up prototype development. Drive interdisciplinary collaboration for efficient product development. Project Management: Manage geospatial projects end-to-end, ensuring on-time, budget-compliant delivery and quality adherence. Foster cross-functional collaboration to align project goals with business requirements. Technical Excellence: Maintain a deep understanding of geospatial technologies, including GIS software, spatial analysis, and remote sensing. Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in the field to drive continuous improvement. Team Leadership: Lead and manage the geospatial technology team, including Geospatial Analysts, GIS specialists, developers, and engineers. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to foster a culture of collaboration and innovation. Team Development: Invest in the professional development of the geospatial technology team, providing training opportunities and mentorship to enhance their skills and capabilities Technology Innovation: Stay updated on emerging geospatial tech, trends, and practices. Assess new tools and methods to boost the company's geospatial capabilities for competitive advantage Client Engagement: Interact with clients to grasp their geospatial needs. Tailor solutions to address challenges and deliver value. Cultivate client relationships to foster business growth. Partnerships and Collaborations: Strategically identify and foster partnerships with industry stakeholders, technology providers, and academic institutions to elevate the company's geospatial capabilities and broaden its market reach. Requirements: Must-have: Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant discipline. Demonstrated track record (8+ years) in geospatial technology, emphasizing leadership and strategic planning abilities. Proficient in the use of GIS/RS software such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, Erdas Imagine, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, and programming languages such as Python and SQL. Strong technical expertise in spatial analysis, geostatistical analysis, and geospatial data management. Experience working with AI/ML technologies and integrating geospatial data with machine learning algorithms. Demonstrated expertise and practical application knowledge of Earth Observation data across various domains, along with contemporary geospatial data formats and management principles. Demonstrated experience in leading geospatial projects from conception to implementation, preferably in diverse industries such as Agriculture, Urban Planning, Environmental Management, Logistics, or Telecommunications. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals. Strategic thinker with a track record of driving innovation, business growth, and customer satisfaction through geospatial solutions. Proficiency in project management methodologies and business development. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to geospatial data governance, privacy, and security.
