We are looking for a mobile engineer with expertise in Android development. Your primary focus will be developing shared frameworks for our client apps, improving our client apps’ performance and stability, and collaborating closely with our Mobile Architect. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers from client and backend teams. A commitment to collaborative problem solving, simplistic design, and the creation of quality products are essential.
About the role
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable architectures for Android and iOS apps.
- Analyse, diagnose, and optimise app performance across various metrics (startup time, memory usage, battery drain).
- Design and implement proactive measures to prevent crashes, bugs, and unexpected behaviour.
- Partner with other engineers, product managers, and designers to understand app behaviour and prioritise optimization efforts.
- Stay ahead of the curve by researching and experimenting with cutting-edge Android performance optimization techniques.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
About you
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Senior Android Developer.
- Relevant education (Bachelor’s degree).
- Proven ability to analyse and debug complex performance issues.
- Expertise in Android memory management, resource utilisation, and thread optimization.
- Continuous learning to stay updated with new frameworks and technologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
- Passion for building user-centric, secure, and high-performing mobile applications.
- Bonus: Experience with CI/CD pipelines for performance tests and automated optimization.
