We are hiring Sr Application Administrator - eCom!!

Join the core group of founding members at the NTE India to build an organization from the ground up.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:

To act as application administrator for the web/eCommerce environments and other applications by working with designated business users, IT team members, and application vendors for application upgrades, patches, code releases, configuration changes, incident management, service requests, and optimization. Proactively monitor the performance of applications/systems and optimize to maximize uptime.

The eComm Application Administrator primary focus areas will include the Northern Tool & Equipment eCommerce Website and integrations to and from this application. Other applications may assigned.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

  • Provides guidance and execution of practices to maintain the operational stability, reliability, and effectiveness of the production and non-production web and select EIP environments.
  • Establishes web systems by planning and executing the installation, configuration, and provisioning of Azure resources/hardware and software.
  • Defines, develops, and maintains operational diagrams, documentation, policies and procedures that support all areas of the web infrastructure and software environments as well as select EIP and Agile Tools environments.
  • Maintains web system performance by performing system monitoring, analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, operating and system management systems; designing and running system load/stress testing; and escalating application problems to vendors or developers.
  • Secures web systems by developing system access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; establishing and testing disaster recovery policies and procedures; coordinating back-ups; and maintaining documentation. Procures or develops tools to improve service, stability and scalability of the environment as needed.
  • Participates in the deployment for web systems in conjunction with the eCommerce team and/or project teams.
  • Recommends hardware and subscription service levels to optimize cost, performance and stability.
  • Ensures compliance with software licensing requirements by understanding how the software is licensed and managing the number purchased and installed. Organize and participate in software audits for related supported applications.
  • Provides ad-hoc reporting on system abnormalities and performs root cause analysis to avoid reoccurrence.
  • Analyzes logs for troubleshooting and proactive monitoring.
  • Builds and deploys software as needed by the development team).
  • Coordinates data refreshes from production to lower environments.
  • Resolves production problems and actively works to design solutions that avoid them. Actively works issues with
  • vendors and escalates as appropriate.
  • Keeps team informed of new software releases of currently installed product, support timelines, and new techniques
  • for more effectively administering the web team’s sites and tools.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for
  • effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate, to ensure a
  • coordinated work effort and team approach.
  • Performs related work as apparent or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field.
  • At least 8 years of related work experience.
  • Excellent grasp of effective IT operations procedures and methodologies.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and using Agile methodologies and tools.
  • Proficient in Red Hat Enterprise Linux commands.
  • Experience with containers and container orchestration (Docker & Azure Kubernetes Service AKS).
  • Experience with administering Cloud Native web applications.
  • Experience with installing and using automated Performance Monitoring solutions (AppDynamics and Splunk preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively measure performance, error, and uptime results. (AppDynamics, ElasticSearch, SQL, etc).
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to troubleshoot and quantify performance data.
  • Fluent in scripting languages, such as shell or PERL.
  • Experience communicating with Database Administration team to achieve performance and uptime goals.
  • Proficient with DevOps and continuous build tools, such as Azure DevOps.
  • Proficient and demonstrated experience configuring Content Delivery Networks. CloudFlare experience a plus.
  • Understanding of DNS and networking as it relates to web systems.
  • Ability to engineer for site reliability and uptime.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel and Project.
  • Attitude of continual improvement, learning, ingenuity, and leading technical change.
  • Dependable and handles pressure well.
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills to effectively manage multiple efforts simultaneously.
