As Software Engineer for the Ultima team, you will be designing and implementing storage or networking solutions for the highly distributed and scalable Kubernetes-based Infrastructure product. You will be working on the next generation of products and enhancements including, but not limited to, multi-cluster and public-cloud integration, distributed policy enforcement, and cutting-edge storage features targeted towards private/public cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role where you would be designing, coding, troubleshooting, and unit-testing new features/enhancement. The ideal candidate should be excited by this new technology, love the start-up environment, and have a demonstrated history of designing, and developing features in storage or networking.



What will you do:

  • Implement and release next-generation storage/networking features for the Diamanti hyper-converged infrastructure stack.
  • Debug and troubleshoot our Kubernetes-based cluster application
  • Collaborate with other Diamanti teams to provide integrated storage/networking solutions for managing “data at rest” and “data in motion” that are encountered in typically distributed cloud environments and software-defined data centers.
  • Troubleshoot complex performance issues with other Diamanti engineers to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Design and develop features/enhancements and maintain high coding standards.
  • Automate repetitive manual tasks, remove opportunities for human error, find security risks and give feedback to colleagues constructively


Qualifications

  • B.Tech/master's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience in storage/networking software development (C/C++) in Unix/Linux based environments.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • Excellent understanding of system software, networking and virtualization.
  • Experience in Agile software development methodologies/Scrum and track record with rapid release cycles.
  • Troubleshooting skills that span across applications, networking (TCP/IP), and storage systems
  • Clustered and Distributed storage management, understanding of storage protocols like iSCSI/NFS/NVMe/NVMeoF a plus.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes including CSI drivers, CRs, CRDs etc.
  • Hands-on experience with k8s, docker or other container runtimes.
  • In-depth understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • An engineer at heart with an innate desire to make an impact.
  • Most importantly, passionate about software.


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Practical experience building K8S infrastructure on a cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
  • Programming experience in Golang.
  • Experience building and shipping distributed applications and microservices using the popular cloud stack i.e., Kubernetes, Containers, running in public cloud environments (ex: AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong experience is building scalable SaaS products.
