Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in Developing Procurement Strategies : Collaborate with the Procurement Manager to develop procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Provide input and recommendations for improving procurement processes and procedures.
  • Supplier Management : Maintain and cultivate relationships with existing and potential suppliers. Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with terms and conditions. Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Procurement Operations : Oversee day-to-day procurement activities, including purchase order processing, vendor selection, and supplier evaluation. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide guidance on procurement best practices.
  • Contract Management : Review, analyze, and negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the organization. Monitor contract performance and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control : Assist in developing procurement budgets and forecasts. Monitor spending against budgetary constraints and implement cost-saving initiatives where possible.
  • Compliance and Risk Management : Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement activities. Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks to protect the organization's interests.
  • Team Leadership and Development : Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team. Delegate tasks, set performance objectives, and conduct performance evaluations. Identify training needs and support the professional development of team members.
  • Reporting and Analysis : Prepare regular reports and analysis on procurement activities, including spending patterns, savings achieved, and supplier performance. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree/Master's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, with at least 8+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, practices, and techniques. Familiarity with procurement software and systems is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards governing procurement activities.
