As a Payroll Compliance Manager in Tietoevry India the incumbent will play a crucial role in ensuring our payroll & compliance processes adhere to all relevant laws and regulations of India and its states.
Minimum 8 to 12 years core experience in Compliance in IT organizations
The roles and responsibilities of this job would comprise of following:
Compliance processes:
ensure that the payroll compliance processes adhere to Indian labor laws, tax regulations, and statutory requirements; advise on changes in legislations and Acts, etc. Processing & returns:
ensuring that compliances (computations, deductions, remittances, returns) are accurately computed, paid and filed as part of monthly payroll process of multiple TE legal entities simultaneously Collaboration:
working closely with all internal and external stakeholders (Payroll, Finance, vendors, payroll processor, etc.) to ensure seamless data flow Data management:
Maintaining systematic, accurate and up to date records of all returns filed, payment receipts, challans, ECRs, etc. Audits:
conduct regular, structured audits of all compliances, resolve discrepancies, suggest observations for continuous improvements Risk management:
keeping all compliances risks updated in TE GRC register from time to time and timely updates to management / leadership Query / Notices management:
resolution of employee queries, notices received from government authorities, representing the organization during formal hearings and audits Automation:
provide automated solutions, Excel templates for faster, easier, accurate processing of data, checking, etc. Suggest and implement software solutions readily available in the market for compliance management
Competencies required for the role: Current and updated knowledge
of payroll compliances and market trends. Profound knowledge of Central and State laws and Acts, rules and regulations, etc. Expertise in payroll and compliance software
/ systems / portals, etc. of all states we operate in (India – Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab). Ability to implement data encryption and security practices in regular compliance processes Analytical skills:
Excellent on-hands knowledge of Microsoft productivity tools, MS Excel, VBA (good to have). Comparison of data sets and identifying trends, errors, logic, etc. Detail orientation:
An eye for details, finding and resolving errors in data, computations, and reports to ensure zero errors and absolute compliance Communication & Presentation skills:
Must have excellent verbal and written language skills. Ability to draft emails, policy documents, SOPs, etc. Ability to communicate with senior government authorities, TE leaders, manager and employees. Solution orientation:
