The Software Engineering Senior Manager manages a team of Software Development Engineers and Quality Engineers. This position participates in the evaluation and prioritization of customer/user requests. The Senior Manager’s main focus will be for applications enhancements to the system as needed to ensure proper processing of the systems and require some production support duties. Assigns projects, research and work assignments to team members and directs activities, providing functional guidance and completing individual tasks as needed. The Senior Manager has full accountability for the work of all members of the team also represents, strategizes, and promotes methodologies and processes across IT and devises improvements to the current processes. This person will require a strong technical background (in Java, SpringBoot, ReactJS, OpenShift) and will be responsible for providing timely feedback to their team members and assisting their leadership with year-end calibration and identification of high performers. Responsibilities: Manages a functional team in one or more sites. Works to develop employee’s skills, evaluates performance and provides feedback, and oversees resolution of employee relations issues. Ensures projects are completed within designated time frames and tracks and reports progress to upper management. Continual improve upon current monitoring both in production and non-production environments. Responsible to drive all technical and functional issues towards closure. Diagnosis, investigation, resolution, coordination with business, application owners, infrastructure support Co-ordinate with support for application bug / enhancement requirement. Consults with business and other IT management to evaluate user requests and clarify objectives for projects and initiatives. Develops annual initiatives and specific deliverables for their team. Oversees determination of feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current policies, procedures, and functions. Completes projects and initiatives as assigned, coordinating their team resources and resources in different departments. Provides assistance to IT team members needing their expertise and knowledge. Mentors and provides on-the-job training for new of less experienced team members. Works with IT Management team to analyze operations and efficiency of the IT group and recommend process improvements. Works with departmental leadership to develop and implement strategic business work plan goals. Tracks and periodically reports progress to senior management. Assists the Budget planning and management for their department. Participates in special projects or task forces as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills: Previous supervisory experience in leading a technical team or managing a larger cross-functional team of non-direct reports. Ability to lead high talent teams in local and remote locations. Ability to motivate employees, handle difficult employee relations issues and create a culture that supports high employee morale. Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions. Extremely detail oriented. Strong customer service focus. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization. Strong influencing/negotiation skills. Strong interpersonal/relationship management skills. Strong time and project management skills. Expertise with most of the following technologies- Java, SpringBoot, React JS, Cloud Technologies, OpenShift Familiarity with agile methodology including SCRUM team leadership. Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example. Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate project deadlines. Required Experience & Education: 15+ years of equivalent work experience. 8+yeards of proven experience leading / managing technical teams with a passion for the developing the talent within the team. Experience with vendor management in an onshore / offshore model. Proven experience with architecture, design, and development of large-scale enterprise application solutions. College degree (Bachelor) in related technical / business areas or equivalent work experience. Desired Experience: Exposure to AWS Healthcare experience including Pharmacy Benefit Management Coaching of team members Industry certifications such as PMP, AWS, RedHat OpenShift, Java certifications Location & Hours of Work: Full-time position, working 40 hours per week. Primarily based in the Innovation Hub in Hyderabad, India, with flexibility to work remotely as required.
