We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role AVP Finance Operations Principal responsibilities: The role will involve assessing and testing the effectiveness of the control activity and key controls as required. Ensure the Invoicing, Accounting and Debtors reconciliation are being processed as per the approved SOP’s. Periodic review of the process controls and establishing corrective actions to mitigate the risk in the process. Identify opportunities for process re-engineering, automation, improvement and drive changes successfully. Acquire understanding and handle processes using process methodology as applicable Issues/Problems are investigated and resolved or escalated appropriately Achieve established Performance Level Agreements (PLA’s) Effective communication and build relationship with Business Partners Responsible for leading & motivating a team of professionals with accountability on all Service Delivery parameters. Has strong technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their application Preparation and consolidation of financial / non-financial management information for a highly complex set of businesses. Analytical review: Ensure that all material variances have been identified and explained in business terms. Responsibility will include assessing for existing business processes, new business developments, and testing some generic process controls Maintain balance between quality and productivity thereby driving enhanced customer experience. Corrective action plan in designed to ensure non-occurrence of repetitive errors. Requirements What you will need to succeed in the role: (Minimum Qualification and Skills Required) CA/ CWA/ MBA – 6-7 years of overall experience in Finance OR B Com / M Com / CA Inter / CWA Inter with minimum 8-10 years’ overall experience in Finance. Ability to lead teams, good team player and self-driven Excellent communication skills Ability to negotiate, build / maintain relations with business units Knowledge of reconciliations including MI reporting and interpretation Strong planning and organisation skills Ability to manage disciplinary or performance issues Problem solving capability on operational matters Ability to understand and implement Group’s risk management policy Experience in chairing large User group calls Understanding the cost dynamics of process management. Ability to interpret data to be presented to manager and possess strong lateral thinking / analytical review skills Ability to manage trouble shooting/ secondary reviews and understand queries raised by business partner and determine escalation as necessary Should have demonstrated ability of driving results In-depth functional experience in accounting for all balance sheet / income statement heads Experience in accounting for loss provisions and other accruals Knowledge of technical accounting concepts Ability and experience of managing customer relationships/ service delivery Experience of interacting with external auditors preferred Experience of 2 years in the FS / F&A service delivery space preferred Hands on Experience using MS Office applications, expert in Excel (especially Vlookup, Pivot, Charts etc.) Experience of being involved in audit control and compliance reviews/ SOX related reviews preferred Multi tasking ability and ability to drive initiatives Should be flexible to stretch and work across shifts You’ll achieve more at HSBC HSBC is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a culture where all employees are valued, respected and opinions count.
