Senior Communications Specialist

Responsibilities:

Strategy Setting:

  • Leadership and vision setting in developing and executing the communications strategy for the organization
  • Ability to maintain government stakeholder partnership and support in the communications visibility to strengthen existing relationships
  • Co-ordinate and guide with programme teams to collect and create content
  • for periodic donor reports and proposals and assist in donor visits and
  • engagement

Execution:

  • Creation, development and update of messaging materials
  • Prepare content/materials for external meetings and speaking engagements
  • (i.e.,PowerPoint presentations, talking points, etc.).
  • Author articles about organization's work to create visibility for our impact
  • Maintain consistency in branding and messaging across all communications
  • Design collaterals and create videos. Coordinate across the fundraising and programme team to ensure they are aligned with the organization's narrative and pitch.


Team Building & Development:

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team, promoting innovation and
  • continuous learning.
  • Organize meetings that bring together team members to discuss challenges
  • and opportunities.
  • Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and support professional development and foster a positive and inclusive work environment for employee engagement and well-being.


External Branding:

  • Develop and implement a clear brand strategy outlining positioning,
  • messaging, and objectives.
  • Create compelling content for various external channels to engage the target
  • audience.
  • Implement digital marketing strategies and PR efforts to increase brand
  • visibility and reputation.
  • Qualifications and Role Requirements:

    Educational Background: Post-graduate in Journalism, Mass Communication,

    Digital Printing, Media Publication, Film Production, or Image Processing.

    Work Experience: We value both professional and personal experience. Candidates

    with 8+ years experience in media relations, journalism, communications, social

    impact space or related field. Relevant experience in content editing, post-production of digital content, and short films are preferred. Prior experience in the education field will be an added bonus.

    Other Skills: Demonstrated skill in proactively building relationships with internal

    and external stakeholders. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to listen well and

    positively represent the organization and its mission. Skills in design software,

    blogging software, social media platforms and editing content desired.
