Opportunity

The Facility Design Engineer (IMEA), reporting to the Regional Facility Design Engineering Manager is an integral part of establishing the warehousing logistics capabilities and growth across the globe.

The Facility Design Engineer is responsible for the design and layout optimization of all strategic asset investments in the warehousing and fulfilment space for Maersk. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to create efficient and cost-effective warehouse layouts. If you thrive in a complex, high-paced environment then this role could be for you.

Key responsibilities

1. End-to-end ownership of engineering management of all construction projects, from pre-project to completion.

2. Create and optimize warehouse layouts, including racking systems and material handling equipment, to maximize space utilization and minimize bottlenecks.

3. Dive deep on technical details and provide value engineering and innovative solutions to drive frugality and continuous improvements

4. Lead technical design reviews and propose design solutions that meet both business needs and global design standards.

5. Collaboration with Global and Regional stakeholders to ensure timely Engineering resources allocated during the Investment process.

6. Key link to Solution Design, Procurement, Delivery, HSSE, IT and other internal stakeholders.

7. Ensure that warehouse designs and modifications adhere to all relevant safety and compliance regulations.

8. Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to source and implement the necessary equipment and systems required for the warehouse projects.

9. Create, submit and track relevant CAPEX requests (Capital Planning) to ensure that all projects are delivered within budget and best overall value

10. Maintain comprehensive documentation of warehouse designs, project plans, and equipment specifications.

11. Assess and communicate project status, drive escalations on potential risks and delays across multiple teams

12. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and implement best practices to enhance warehouse design and performance.

13. Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to Procurement, Change Management and other business partners for best value and competition.


Required experience & skills.

1. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in engineering, architecture, building sciences or relevant subjects.

2. Verifiable work experience of 8+ years working ideally in Logistic infrastructure, development, and/or construction industry.

3. Experience using MS Excel, CAD\BIM related software's, MS Project

4. Knowledge about automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions

5. Technical (written and verbal) English communication skills.

6. Experience working for a diverse multi-disciplined company

7. The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clients.

9. Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
