The Enterprise Solution Architect will collaborate and guide a team of Portfolio Solution Architects and support project development by bridging the specific business problems (and issues) to the technologies that support them. In this role you will engage with Portfolio Solution Architects who are project-facing and provide two areas of support: a business focus in ensuring the correct alignment of the technology with the business needs, and a technology focus in ensuring the technology used is complying with the architectural strategy and standards. You will collaborate with Domain Architects and our business leaders and partners, act as a trusted advisor, and lead technical transformations and implementations for our dynamic business, which covers our extended value chain from Agriculture through Manufacturing, logistics and commercial, including retail / FMCG. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state), and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the organization's targeted business outcomes. Design and lead the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities and business requirements. Responsible for maintaining the Enterprise Architecture framework up to date in the Enterprise Architecture tool in collaboration with the other Solution Architects and Portfolio leads. Manage and develop the architecture for a broader scope of projects, working closely with business and application architects that manage and design architecture for a single project or initiative. Provide consulting support to portfolio solution architects within projects to ensure the project is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture. Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements. Understand technology trends and the practical application of existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models. Share the responsibility to structure the agenda for the Architecture Review Bord (ARB) to review and approve enterprise solutions, patterns and roadmaps in alignment with the target state. Analyze the business-IT environment (run, grow and transform the business) to detect critical deficiencies, and recommend solutions for improvement (systems of record, differentiation and innovation). Define the principles, guidelines, standards and solution patterns to ensure solution decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision. Consult with application and infrastructure development projects to fit systems or infrastructure to architecture, and identify when it is necessary to modify projects to accommodate the solutions architecture. Ensuring state of sustainability for the deployed solutions MEASURES OF SUCCESS: Be an excellent communicator and collaborator, engaging with multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders. Expertise in key Technology Domains including Cloud, Containers, API, Events, Security, Integration, Infrastructure, Data and AI. Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as waterfall, spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevOps). The job responsibilities include extensive partnering with the IT service providers/vendors, internal teams and business customers. This will require time-bound delivery with clear business returns. Rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies. Application Portfolio Management (APM): Hands on experience implementing APM with one or more leading EA tool such as LeanIX, Orbus, Ardoq. Knowledge of the SAP emerging technologies such as S4/HANA. KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES: 15+ years of experience designing and leading architecture solutions with a combination of managerial and technical leadership. Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline Experience in multiple architecture domains (business, information, technology, application, infrastructure, security) and proficient in generating technical roadmaps and architectures to lead architecture concepts. Advanced knowledge of architecture tools, processes and procedures A proven ability to interpret and communicate IT related information and concepts into business language for senior level stakeholders Cloud: PaaS, IaaS, cloud architecture. Experience in MS Azure is ideal. Has been part of an Enterprise Architecture Function. Good social and communication skills to openly identify architectural consequences to relevant parties across the organization Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations.
