Job Title - Shift Manager-Sponge Iron Unit (SIU)-Process Level - Manager Location -Raipur, C.G About the Job Responsible for driving the execution of daily operational activities of a team of technicians and operators across the Sponge Iron Unit (SIU) and documenting the outcome of same for reporting purposes. Roles and Responsibilities Plant Operations Monitor and drive the execution of scheduled daily production plan through a team of well-qualified technicians and operators to ensure that the daily production targets are met without compromising plant equipment health and finished goods quality, thus ensuring optimal efficiency, productivity, and profitability Create shift schedules of various workforce to ensure continuous Sponge Iron production operations within both kilns and submit the same for validation to Manager Process. Lead and manage a team of technicians, and operators to ensure all activities, including data capturing & recording, are performed safely and effectively. Review and document the key plant, equipment, and manpower performance indicators such as daily material & energy consumption and the production figures multiple times in a single shift to identify trends and deviances and ensure that the various data capturing and recording systems and equipment put in place to monitor plant operations perform properly. Maintain the production & operations data for reporting purposes in dedicated internal systems and as per departmental SOPs and procedures. Work closely with the Operation Excellence team as well as the PM-CBM team to ensure that all the maintenance activities are being completed as per SOPs and on time to reduce downtime and breakdown events. Regularly visit the various kiln work areas to observe, validate, and rectify process deviances and abnormalities, as well as to monitor and document the performances of plant machinery and equipment. General Administration Ensure that the team of operators and technicians are provided with periodic skills and knowledge development training programs to ensure they are appropriately equipped to carry out their duties effectively. Monitor all operational activities for adherence to regulatory and departmental compliances, SOPs and procedures. Document and report any deviances identified to the Manager Process & generate recommendations to resolve, rectify, or eliminate the same. Prepare and submit reports describing the fulfilment and performance daily of operational activities of manpower and equipment to Manager Operations for validation and further analysis. Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring that all employees are trained in safety protocols and that all equipment is properly maintained. Perform any additional tasks as and how required by the senior and top management. Requirements and Skills Desired Qualification Bachelor's in mechanical, Electrical, or Production Engineering from a reputed institution. Desired Experience 4+ years of experience in SIU plant operations and maintenance. Functional Skills Strong understanding of SIU plant operations and maintenance, including knowledge of kilns operations, and other related equipment Proven track record of successful plant management and operational excellence Knowledge of health, safety, & environmental regulations Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
