About the role... As a Performance Test Architect with 8-12 years of experience, you will be responsible for designing, enhancing and implementing effective Performance, Scalability and Reliability test strategies for the o9 Platform. You will work closely with the development and QA teams to identify performance bottlenecks, memory leaks, and areas for improvement, thereby enabling the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and robust applications. Your expertise in scaling containers, orchestration, high availability testing will be pivotal in improving our software deployment process. Your Responsibilities will include but not limited to : Ø Performance, Scalability and Reliability - Strategy, Planning and Execution : · Strategize, plan and execute performance testing for container-based applications to identify performance bottlenecks, latency issues, and resource constraints. · Analyze and interpret performance test results, providing actionable recommendations to improve system performance and memory utilization Ø Memory Optimization: · Investigate and analyze memory-related issues, including memory leaks and excessive memory consumption, in containerized environments. · Design and implement strategies to optimize memory usage, ensuring efficient utilization of resources. Ø Architectural Review and Optimization: · Collaborate with the development team and architects to review application architecture and identify areas where memory optimization can be incorporated. · Suggest and implement architectural changes to enhance performance and memory efficiency. Ø CI/CD Integration: · Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline using Jenkins or Azure DevOps to achieve continuous testing and deployment. · Work with development and DevOps teams to optimize the CI/CD workflow and automate the release process. Ø Containerization and Orchestration: · Utilize containerization technologies such as Docker to enhance application portability and consistency. · Work with container orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes) to streamline application deployment, scaling, and monitoring. Ø Best Practices and Knowledge Sharing: · Collaborate with development, testing, and DevOps teams to define and implement a comprehensive performance test strategy, organizational asset for best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement. · Provide guidance and mentorship to performance team members on performance test best practices and testing methodologies. Job Description – Software Test Architect Skills : Open Source Test Automation Frameworks using Selenium, Jenkins, JMeter, Unix, Java(Must be able to code) OR Python(Must be able to code), Monitoring tools viz. The candidate will be a key member of the o9 client interfacing test team and will be focused and contributing to : 1. Provide hands-on technical assistance to enable test automation, improve system performance, capacity, reliability and scalability. 2. Be able to guide the test team in overall test design and execution. 3. Identify Performance Bottlenecks and develop enhancements. 4. Work closely with the client/architects to gather functional and non-functional requirement from stakeholders, preparing test plan and relevant docs, effort estimation and developing test scripts for complex applications. 5. Derive different workload models for load, stress and scalability while analysing usage patterns from production logs. 6. Develop new ideas/strategy/approach to continuously improve the process of automation and performance engineering. Required Experience and Skills : Performance Test Architect with 7-9 years of experience in functional/ and non-functional validation of SaaS applications using RESTful services using Selenium and Jmeter. Must be able to code in Java or Python. Hands-On implementation knowledge of Open Automation Frameworks and best practices, performance testing and monitoring in-built tools viz. Perfmon, .NET CLR Tools, Visual Studio Concurrency Analyzer, Preview a. Thorough Understanding of distributed system architecture with middleware technologies for data integration and be able to layer testing strategy accordingly. Performance testing of distributed systems with message brokers, Ingress and API Gateway b. Good Understanding of Cloud Architecture specifically on AWS and/or Azure and/or GoogleCloud and capacity planning of the Infra. c. Should have used any open source Performance logging, alerting and monitoring tools and stacks viz. ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios d. Should have used Continuous Integration tools viz. Jenkins(desirable) to schedule automated execution. Unix shell scripting for automated job creation & debugging level knowledge is required. e. Hands-On knowledge on No-SQL data base like Mongo DB. Strong in writing SQL queries to perform backend data validations.
