Position Summary & Objective
The Systems Administrator maintains and enhances the organization's computer systems and network infrastructure. This role manages servers, workstations, network devices, and all necessary system resources to ensure optimal performance, stability, and security and works closely with the IT team and various departments within the organization to identify and implement solutions that meet business needs and improve overall system efficiency.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, ensuring that they are operating at optimal performance levels, including regularly applying software updates, security patches, and managing backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls, and ensure that all network devices are properly configured and optimized for performance and security.
- Monitor the performance of all systems, including servers, workstations, and network devices; identify and troubleshoot any issues that may arise and take appropriate action to resolve them.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure that all users have the necessary resources to perform their jobs, including setting up new user accounts, modifying existing accounts, and disabling accounts as needed.
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new technology, systems and upgrades, including researching new technologies and making recommendations to management on the best solutions to meet business needs.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades as required to ensure the stability and security of all systems.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends and share that knowledge with the IT team and other departments within the organization.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience as a Systems Administrator, specializing in online exchange environments.
- Proficiency in AWS administration.
- Skilled in managing virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V.
- Experience in network design, administration, and security.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
