Head of Quality Assurance

Main tasks and responsibilities : • Lead the Non-Confirming Report (NCR) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes, ensuring year on year improvements, and full engagement of all contributing areas • Lead all supplier development activities and deliver a year-on-year reduction in supplier rejects and non-conformances. Develop the supply base, to improve quality , cost and delivery metrics • Drive strong Sulzer global benchmark of incoming and in process quality • Lead business improvement activities, deliver year on year cost improvements and ensure the SPI Policy Deployment matrix is developed, agreed and delivered • Responsible for the Quality Management System, ISO 9001:2015 accreditation, internal auditing procedures and the follow-up and resolution of all non-confirming actions • Ensure all customer requirements are met, including customer standards and approval & necessary accreditation • Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, manufacturing, and customers regarding technical support of their activities. Competencies and behavior required • Lead, motivate and mentor a team of quality professionals and be the technical quality specialist – Metallurgical , machining & casting process would be highly recommended • Understand and deploy business improvement techniques and strategies • Understand, use and coach problem solving techniques • Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to optimize team performance and development • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders and suppliers • Strong and confident negotiator with the ability to negotiate at all levels Qualifications/Experience and Knowledge Required ·Experience running a quality and continuous improvement team ·Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and fluid flow principles, Minimum 12+ years’ experience in a similar position ·Knowledge and technical understanding of Pump product, processes, components, manufacturing, and testing techniques ·Broad technical insight in other areas like ASTM, API, ASME ·In depth knowledge and experience of quality tools and techniques ·Lead Auditor in ISO 9001 preferable ·Ability to coach and manage cross functional teams on aspects of Quality Behavior ·Auditing skills and experience
